THE DAY OF THE SHOW:
So, you have your show booked and are ready to rock The Asylum! That's great, and we always pride a close relationship with the artists we work with. Here is some information that will help you out on the day of the show so things run smoothly and everyone knows their role to make for a successful event. Please discuss details with The Asylum if you require different scheduling or have any specific needs or requirements to make your magic happen.
LOAD IN/PARKING: Bands usually load in between 7pm and 7:30pm unless an earlier load in time is required and discussed in advance. The load in area for bands is in front of the main doors to The Asylum at 19 Regent Street. This is not a parking spot, however bands can load there and then park their vehicles across the street at the Queens Athletic Field parking area. If you are towing a trailer, then you may park behind the building in the small parking lot as long as it is within 10 feet of the building where The Asylum is located. Larger trailers and busses may require a different parking scenario so please let us know if you have any special load in or parking requirements.
SOUND CHECK/GEAR: Sound check usually takes place between 8pm and 8:30pm, or an hour before doors, depending on when the doors are scheduled for. We provide the sound techs whom are highly skilled and will work with you throughout the evening to ensure you have everything you need for your performance. Due to limited space, we only sound check the first band and then line check all bands afterwards. If a lengthy sound check is needed, please advise us in advance so we can ensure everything flows smoothly. If you are able to gear share, this often helps with set up and tear down times as well as frees up space in the venue. If you need any gear, please let us know well in advance or contact other bands playing to arrange something with them. We can supply guitar cabs and a bass cab if needed but please inform us before hand so we are prepared.
DOORS: Door time is determined on the size of the show and how many bands are playing. On average we have doors at 9pm with the music starting at around 10pm unless another schedule is preferred. If there are more than 3 bands this sometimes differs so please discuss with our booker if you need a different door time than 9pm or other arrangements are needed.
CURFEW: On average we like to end the music between 1am-1:30am on weekends, or around 12-12:30 on week nights. If you require anything different, please discuss with the booker in advance as we want to make sure everything runs according to schedule and in good timing reflective of the event. Last call is at 1:45am on event nights.
