The Almighty Rhombus

Sudbury, Ontario
Cosmic Dave's Record Factory
Formed in 2011, The Almighty Rhombus is a pop band. Three of the members are brothers, and they are all proud to be from Sudbury, which is a much cooler city than people give it credit for. They have a cool new album that came out in October (2016) called Lucid Living, to complement the EP they released last year. They are working hard to play lots of shows and refine their sound. They're hard not to like.

The term pop can mean different things to different people. In reference to the Almighty Rhombus, it means catchy, propulsive, melodic music with a soul. The boys in the Almighty Rhombus polish up these shiny gems with an effortlessness that belies their years.

Attuned listeners will hear in the Almighty Rhombus elements of their favourite pop music throughout the years. From the smooth doo-wop 1940s, to the rock and roll of the 50s, to the psychedelia and gritty garage of the 60s, to the prog, punk and arena rock of the 70s, the shiny new-wave 80s, the powerpop of the 90s, and the garage resurgence of the early 2000s, The Almighty Rhombus synthesizes these elements effortlessly into something that is at once familiar and unique.

Give these handsome young scalawags a chance and you will agree that they are a good band who have a lot going for them. Get on the bandwagon now so you can tell your friends you liked them before they were popular.
