The Algorithm is the brainchild of Rémi Gallego, a talented music producer and musician from France and currently residing in Germany.
In 2009, after his former band Dying Breath disbanded, Rémi began searching for other musicians to start a new musical project geared towards a mathcore style. Due to not finding any other compatible musicians in the area, and with the help of his guitar and a DAW, Gallego began to experiment and produce his own music. This new music was quite unique which has since brought Remi a considerable degree of notoriety, for not many had experimented with the musical formulas he learned to perfect, what we now know as The Algorithm.
The Algorithm melds several types of electronic and intelligent dance music with progressive metal (including djent and mathcore). For live performances Rémi Gallego uses an Akai APC40, a MIDI controller produced by the company Akai, co-developed with the German company Ableton, connected to a laptop running Ableton Live. The result is something truly unique to the stage, and The Algorithm has been touring the world, gaining a large following of fans of both electronic and metal music alike.
