Artist Profile

David Solomon

Toronto, Ontario
Named after two kings, David Solomon was born with a purpose and that purpose has been birthed through music and poetry. Growing up music spoke to him even though he was always afraid to share his gifts with friends and family. He would sit silently listening to all genres and great artists, connecting him emotionally to each song. As his love for music grew David Solomon was reflecting on the names he was given and as he reflected on King David realizing he was a musician, he purchased a guitar and be gain teaching himself. For some reason he just felt that connected to his name sake and felt this was the next natural step in his love affair with music.

As music helped to mold his creativity, David Solomon began to pick up poetry’s pen. He was constantly writing about love, sexual experiences and the stresses of his life that was felt in his silence. These words were used to escape, to create and to live a life that he couldn’t previously with only music. Poetry allowed his to think about King Solomon, he was the son of King David a man full of wisdom and dedication his father lacked.

What really makes these names special is the sheer contrast of each. David was always comfortable alone taking those moments to understand him and talk with God. Until he was forced to interact with everyone after his first victory; this didn't give him much time to be himself. Solomon enjoyed the company of others. He was raised as a prince and always had others around him, his words were his means to escape and in his escape he saw the dreams of his father die with him and made it his mission to complete them. David Solomon embodies these two spirits, these personalities and the conflict is beautiful.

You can expect a lot from David Solomon and none short of greatness. Stay close and stay focused.
